Tour Itinerary

Here you'll find a rough breakdown of the itinerary. BUT it's not all set in stone. Since we travel with a small group who don't all have the same idea of a good time, we are flexible with the outings and timings. Check out the bottom of the page for all the trip inclusions and optional extras.

Pre-Departure - Brisbane

All travellers will depart from Brisbane International Airport. Flights from your closest capital city will be arranged*, accommodation and transfers to Brisbane airport the morning of departure will be included in your tour package.

Day 1 - Brisbane to Tokyo

I know it's painful to have to sit on an aeroplane for 9 hours, but it beats swimming. We'll make our way from the accommodation to the airport early in the morning to check in for our flight. You'll have 20kgs or luggage allowance for the flight over as well as the usual 7kgs of cabin baggage. Once we arrive in Tokyo (Narita) airport, we'll head down to the high speed rail that will take us to 2 stops away from our final destination in Tabata.

Day 2 - Tokyo

For our first day in Tokyo, we'll head on over to the Nippori Fabric Town for a wander around, then head to Meiji Jungu for a walk around the grounds and courtyards; then on to the famous Shibuya Scramble crossing and a workshop to make your own set of chopsticks. Followed up by dinner and getting lost in Don Quijote before heading back to the hotel to deal with mass overstimulation fromthe days asdventure.

Day 3 - Tokyo

Today is a morning for sensory experiences at the TeamLab Planets interactive exhibition. Then on to the Toyosu seafood market for a seafood lunch. After a delicious lunch we'll head over to the Imperial Palace to walk the grounds before heading to the Tokyo Sky Tree to get a birds-eye view of the city. Then you'll have some free time to explore, shop, play, karaoke, or just relax.

Day 4 - Tokyo to Kyoto

Ever wanted to take the Shinkansen literally anywhere? Well, today is the day. Gather your bags, grab a bento and board the shinkansen, Kyoto bound. After we arrive in Kyoto, we'll check in to the hotel before making our way to the Nishiki Market and Nomura Tailor. A quick stop at the convenience store for cool drinks and snacks then off to bed.

Day 5 - Kyoto

Today is a wandering day. We'll take the bus up to the Ginkakuji Temple and wander our way back down to the accommodation through the historic streets and quiet neighbourhoods of Kyoto, stopping to participate in a traditional tea ceremony and show led by a Maiko (Trainee Geisha). Then the night is yours to do with what you wish.

Day 6 - Kyoto to Hiroshima

Mid-morning we'll head on over to the Kyoto train station to board another Shinkansen for the 2 hour ride to Hiroshima. When we arrive we'll drop our luggage at the hotel and head on over to the Memorial Peace Park to wander the grounds and visit the museum. In the evening, we'll meet up for an Okonomiyaki dinner and maybe even find a karaoke lounge and belt out some tunes...

Day 7 - Hiroshima/Miyajima Island

Who doesn't want to spend their day visting a beautiful island to make friends with the local deer, meander through the local temple, see the floating Torii gates, ride in a cable car to the top of a mountain, and eat delicious street food? Because, today we'll be visiting Miyajima Island. Then the afternoon is yours to explore before we meet up for dinner.

Day 8 - Hiroshima to Busan

It's an early start today as we make our way to Fukuoka/Hakata Port to board the ferry that will take us to Busan in less time that it takes for the Spirit of Tasmania to cross from Melbourne to Devenport. With observation decks, lounges, games room, sauna/onsen and a convenience store onboard, you'll have plenty to keep you occupied on the 6 hour crossing. After we arrive in Busan, we'll make our way directly to the hotel and grab some dinner.

Day 9 - Busan

Get your best smile on because we're headed to the Insta-ready Gamcheon Culture Village as our first stop today. Then we'll head to the Jagalchi  Fish Market and Biff Street for some eats, followed by a train ride on the Haeundae Blueline. We'll grab some dinner in the Haeundae Beach area before heading back to our accommodation for the evening.

Day 10 - Busan to Seoul

You'll have some time in the morning to explore independently before we hop on the KTX bullet train up to Seoul after lunch. When we arrive into Seoul we'll head directly to our accommodation and get settled in before heading out for a BBQ dinner and a trip to Daiso.

Day 11 - Seoul

Today you'll get to see how people lived in Joseon Era Korea. We'll head down to the Korean Folk Village in Yongin before heading back to Seoul through the Express Bus Terminal and Gangnam where we'll stop in at the Starfield Mall to see the gorgeous Starfield Library, catch a movie, and do some shopping. Then the evening is all yours.

Day 12 - Seoul

Today brings a wander through the Dongmyeo Flea Market. This market is truly full of odds and ends, kitchenware, vintage clothing, and just random things. After Dongmyeo we'll head to Insadong for a wander down the culture street, looking for arts and crafts, and carving your very own name seal. In the evening, well head up to the Namsan Tower to view the Seoul skyline. Then down to Myeongdong to see the nightlife and grab a bite to eat.

Day 13 - Seoul

It's time to pull out that empty backpack and get ready for a buying frenzy... we're headed to the Dongdaemun Fabric & Craft Market, the Leather Market and Dongdaemun Design Plaza during the day, then we'll head to the Hongdae area to learn the Korean art of Bojagi - cloth gift wrapping, and to have dinner and a drink. We might even find a Noraebang and sing the night away.

Day 14 - Seoul

On our last full day in Seoul we'll head over to the Namdaemun Market then you'll have the rest of the day to explore on your own before we meet up for dinner. Everyone is pretty exhausted by this end of the trip, so it'll be a chill night. Packing bags and running to Daiso for any last minute buys. You will have 40kgs of checked luggage allowance and 7kgs of carry-on.

Day 15 - Seoul to Sydney

After checking out of the accommodation, we'll store the luggage and head to the Gyeongbukgung palace, donning a traditional Korean Hanbok and posing for photos in the palace. The private transfer will arrive at 5pm to take us to the airport where we'll check in, and transfer to the concourse terminal for dinner before we board our red eye flight.

Post-Tour Arrival

Welcome home traveller! Now you're back on Aussie soil, you'll head to your connecting flight or train to get home. In two weeks you'll feel like the trip was a lifetime ago.

Experiences & Attractions

We know that offering mainly breakfast for the meal covered each day is a cop out. That's why we include lunch or dinner as the ONE supplied meal for the day. This may be a meal delivery if you're feeling peopled-out; group dinners and lunches like KBBQ, ramen and sushi; or a whole bunch of street food. The options are endless.

Each traveller will be issued with a Suica care for Japan and a T-Money card or Climate Card for Korea that will be loaded with 5,000 Yen and 50,000 Won/7 Days respectively.

Any additional public transit costs, you will need to cover, but the amount loaded should be sufficient to cover getting around on the above inventory.

Flights

Transfers

All standard economy flights are included* in the package price from your closest capital city to Brisbane for the flight to Japan, the Brisbane to Japan leg, and the Seoul to Sydney (or Brisbane) leg. The outbound flights include 20kgs of checked baggage and 7kgs of carry on. If you would like business class flights booked, please let us know and they can be arranged at an additional cost.

* Flights out of Western Australia and the Northern Territory will incur an additional charge of $299.

Because our pricing is based on a solo traveller who does not want to share a room, every traveller will be allocated their own room with, at minimum, a double bed and private bathroom. 

If you're travelling with a friend or partner and would like to share a room, let us know and we'll apply a discount to your package price. 

You won't have to worry about getting to and from airports and cities. Everything from the express train into Tokyo from the airport, to 3 Shinkansen rides, the ferry between Japan and Korea, the KTX between Busan & Seoul, and the private transfer from Seoul to Incheon Airport.

This also includes some taxi/Uber rides as some cities are more spread out than others and it's impractical to take public transport everywhere.

Travel Insurance

We provide one meal per day (Lunch, dinner or market/street food). You will be responsible for all other meals and snacks.

Each traveller will need to have their own travel insurance. The certificate of Currency will need to be submitted to us prior to departure.

Flights & Travel

Taxis & Uber Rides

Entertainment onboard, seat upgrades, any food or drink over and above the 2 meals pre-booked, excess baggage charges. You will also be responsible for your travel to your nearest domestic departure airport.

Included experiences and workshops cannot be transferred for different activities unless arranged prior to the final balance being paid. If the activity is changed, you may incur an additional charge.

Your package price does not cover all taxi or Uber rides, especially those trips taken during free time.
